The challenge

A leading supplier of construction materials, urgently needed 250k certified face masks so their teams could support government efforts to build temporary hospitals and testing centres during COVID 19. Let down by their usual PPE supplier, they faced revenue losses of £100k per day.The masks needed to be genuine and fully certified and they were needed within a 48-hour timeframe.

The solution

Using its strong global links, ABCO was able to source enough masks from our supply network across Europe - but there wasn’t enough space on the airfreight network to secure delivery. We arranged a HGV vehicle with two drivers to complete a 3,000 mile round trip to collect the masks from Portugal so that this major construction giant could continue to support the COVID relief efforts.
